ABOUT THE NAIM BRAND

British Engineering Devoted to the Truth of Music

Every Naim product is conceived, designed, and engineered entirely in service of the sound, revealing a pure experience of music that is as close as possible to its original source. We believe that the exploration of sound is an adventure that rewards you with a clarity and connection that becomes more powerful the deeper you travel within it. Which is why, every element within our systems is crafted to create a silence around the sound, reducing any interference between you and the music.

The Naim Audio way

Since our creation in 1973, we've managed to stay ahead of the trends and rely above all on our idea of what makes the best music system in a listening room. In this way, we have always respected our convictions while offering a unique range of products.

How we Listen

No matter how vanishingly low we manage to make distortion and jitter or how well we control power supply noise and interference, we always make our final judgement on a product in the listening room.  Every component must earn its place.

When we listen, it's not just about technical competencies. It's about losing yourself in the music, feeling every note, every emotion.

Made in England

Almost all Naim products are hand-assembled by our experts in our Salisbury workshop. Different ranges have dedicated production and finishing areas structured around manufacturing and control 'cells'. Each cell builds a product from start to finish, using state-of-the-art equipment and tools. The processes created by our R&D teams ensure that every product is made to exacting standards. At Naim, the big and small details aggregate to create the 'voice of Naim'.

The Beginning of a British Audio Icon

A Story Born from One Man’s Passion.

Naim’s journey began with Julian Vereker MBE - a racing driver, entrepreneur and self‑taught engineer with a deep love for music. Frustrated by the poor playback quality of his live recordings, he began designing his own amplifiers in the late 1960s. His unconventional approach and refusal to accept compromise laid the foundation for decades of iconic, award‑winning products.

From supplying equipment to Capital Radio in 1972, to launching legendary models like the NAP 200, NAC 12 and NAIT, Naim has shaped British hi‑fi history for more than six decades.

Where Heritage Meets Technological Innovation

Designed Entirely in Service of the Sound.

Every Naim product begins with a single question: How do we reveal more of the music? To achieve this, Naim engineers obsess over four core pillars of performance:

🞄 Space - each critical component is isolated in its own environment to eliminate interference and preserve purity.
🞄 Circuitry - Internal interactions are minimised so quiet and loud passages remain equally expressive.
🞄 Purposeful Materials - Aluminium enclosures protect electronics from magnetic fields, temperature changes and vibration.
🞄 Technology - Advanced electronics, software development, mechanical engineering and acoustics work together to deliver a truly refined sonic experience.

A new era in British sound

The New Classic series and the Mu-so Hekla.

As it enters the next chapter of its history, the Naim brand is redefining the concept of modern hi-fi through its flagship New Classic range (comprising the 200 and 300 series) and the Mu-so Hekla wireless system. In designing these components – from the advanced NSS 333 network players to the powerful NAP 350 power amplifiers – the engineers in Salisbury have integrated a proprietary, state-of-the-art streaming platform with purist analogue circuits. Every device in this range is characterised not only by exceptional dynamics and precision, but also by a unique design in which isolated circuits and uncompromising power supplies completely eliminate digital noise. As a result, the latest generation of Naim systems effortlessly transforms the highest-resolution digital signal into a natural, deeply emotional musical experience, setting new standards in the premium class.
